The short version: the calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent to our server. The site uses Google Analytics to count page views, and Cloudflare hosts it. There are no accounts and no ads, and we don’t sell data.

Your calculator inputs

Every calculation happens in your browser. When you enter a balance, an APR or a payment, the math runs on your device, and the site has no server that receives it.

The planner saves your inputs in your browser’s local storage so they’re still there when you come back. That storage lives on your device, and only this site, in your browser, can read it. To clear it, delete the site data for debtpayoffcalc.com in your browser’s settings (look for cookies and site data). A private or incognito window doesn’t keep it after you close the window.

A share link puts your numbers in the part of the address after the #, called the fragment. Browsers don’t send the fragment to the server when they request a page; the URL standard has the browser handle it on its own. So opening a share link doesn’t send your numbers to us or to our host.

Anyone you give the link to can see every number in it, and the debt names too unless you turn on “hide debt names” before copying. Treat a share link like the numbers themselves.

CSV export and printing

The CSV file is built in your browser and saved straight to your device. Printing works the same way. Neither sends anything to us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit, so we know what to improve. It records things like the page address (without the part after the #), the referring site, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. It never receives your calculator inputs.

We’ve turned off Google signals and ad personalization for this site. Google signals would link visits to signed-in Google accounts for cross-device reports.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, named _ga and ga followed by an ID, to tell visits apart. Google says they last up to 2 years by default, though some browsers cut that short. Google explains its own handling in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To opt out, block cookies for this site or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes standard request information such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser’s user agent, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare describes this in its privacy policy.

Email

If you email info@debtpayoffcalc.com, we get your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. Please don’t include account numbers or other financial details beyond what’s needed to reproduce a problem.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts, logins or sign-up forms.
  • No ads and no ad tracking.
  • No selling or renting of data to anyone.
