Nothing on DebtPayoffCalc is financial advice. The site is run by Tim, an independent developer who is not a financial advisor and holds no financial credentials.

Results are estimates

Every calculator follows the rules on the methodology page: a monthly interest rate of APR divided by 12, interest rounded to the cent each month, and the payments you enter. Your real statements will differ. Many card issuers charge interest daily on your average daily balance, and real accounts have fees, rates that change and new charges. The calculators leave all of those out.

Use the results to compare options and plan. Before you act on one, check the numbers with your lender.

Getting advice

For advice about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional. A nonprofit credit counselor can help you with a budget and a plan for your debts.

The site has no affiliate relationships, sponsors or ads at present. No company pays to appear here, and nothing on the site ranks products or offers.

If that changes, any paid link or offer will carry a plain disclosure right next to it. The FTC’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) require material connections to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and the FTC’s own guidance (What People Are Asking) says a single disclosure on a home page isn’t enough. So a disclosure would never live only on this page.
